Balnarring Village Motor Inn
Best Place To Stay On The Peninsula
Over the past 15 or so years, Linda and I have done our fair share of "walkabout's" on the Mornington Peninsula, which means we've also spent a fair amount of time resting our weary bodies in many a hotel, motel and inn along the way.
We've got to tell you, though, out of all the places we've ever stayed, we'd definitely give the Balnarring Village Motor Inn, operated by Derryck and Margaret Rees, our "Two Thumbs Up."
You'll always find Derryck and Margaret going out of their way to make sure the rooms are clean and tidy, everything's manicured and in it's place, the grounds are immaculate, and every guest is pampered and has everything they need. No wonder it's such a popular place to stay! And, one of the many reasons it has a 4-Star rating.
A Slice Of Paradise
At the end of a busy touring day around the Peninsula, Linda and I always looked forward to coming back to the Inn in the evenings. We'd take our tray of cheeses, crackers and bottle of wine out to the tables and enjoy the wonderful evenings and sunsets. What could be better!
Although we didn't get to see the Koala that hangs around in the Eucalyptus tree by the tables, we did see plenty of Cockatoo's, Gallah's, Parrot's, Lorikeet's and all kinds of other birds. Your very own aviary right from the comfort of the grounds of the Inn. Bonza! (that's Australian for "excellent," "attractive," "pleasing" for those not familiar with the Aussie lingo.)
Each Room A Sanctuary
How may times have you stayed at a hotel, motel or inn and every room is identical? I mean, what happened to providing guests with an individual experience? Well, look no further.
The Balnarring Village Motor Inn has 16 unique and individualized rooms and I'm sure Derryck and Margaret have one that's done up in just your style.
Two of the rooms have jetted spas, which is what Linda and I opted for. If you've been on the road all day, there's nothing better than a soak in the tub and jumping straight into bed to replay the day's events in your dreams!
Access To Everything
Another nice thing about the Balnarring Village Motor Inn is that it's just minutes away from some of the best beaches in the area and the 30, or so, wineries on the Peninsula.
There's also a shopping center right across the street with a supermarket, a variety of food takeaway's, fitness center, medical center, and more, So, if you forget your toothbrush or need something to nibble on or want a bottle of wine to enjoy later in the jetted spa, you'll find it across the street.
Just about anything you'll want to do or see on the Peninsula is about 1/2 hour's drive, give or take, from Balnarring so it's ideally situated to use as a home base during your stay.

Our Trip to Australia
|
|
Linda and I had a great time on our last trip to the Mornington Peninsula located in southern Victoria, Australia. We spend much of our time taking my mum around to some of her favorite places including Olinda, Portsea, Sorento, Mt Martha, Rye, Red Hills, Main Ridge, Shoreham, Balnarring, Cape Shanck, Flinders, Berrick... well, you get the idea.
There weren't too many places we didn't visit on the Peninsula and surrounding areas. We also enjoyed some quality time with my sister, Patty, and brother-in-law, Geoff, and our friends Alice, Chrys and Peter, and Lynn and Pete.
I know I've bragged about the Mornington Peninsula before in past newsletters, etc. So, Linda and I thought it best just to show you some of our photographs and let them speak for themselves this time. We hope you enjoy them...
Some More Photographs From The Area

Who’d have thunk that the second time around with the same man could be so WONDERFUL? Well it is.
I know I don’t usually contribute to the newsletter, but since John and I have essentially renewed our marriage I thought it appropriate to add my thoughts.
It only takes one to save a marriage and two to break it. John was my warrior and wouldn’t give up on 30 years of history. When I was making copies of the photos to put in the family album it occurred to me just how much history we do have together.
I have to say this trip was probably the most memorable trip in spite of the fact our Dad, "Freddie," was no longer able to go on day trips with us. Why? Because our renewed love, trust and devotion to each other made it exceptionally special to not only our loved ones but also to friends and us.
That said, it was a wonderful experience and I only wish for all those who read this to know that seeing beauty around you begins at home. :-)
Linda
